Link building is very important in web development. Experts say that you should 80/20 rule. 20% in building your site, and 80% promoting it.

Promoting a site includes linkbuilding. The more links the better because links will serve as the backbone or foundation of a site/blog. Google gives higher PR (Page Rank) to sites that have loads of linkbacks/backlinks.

One sure way to build backlinks is when you submit your blog to social bookmarking sites. Try to search for Social Networking sites that offers DO FOLLOW links so that you will acquire some link juice in return at the same time gaining better SERPs rankings.

It takes alot of time to determine which social sites offer DO FOLLOW links, but it’s worth it I tell you. You can determine a site if it’s no follow or do follow by going to the source code. Press “Ctrl+F”, if you could see a no follow tag, then that site gives no follow link, otherwise it’s a do follow one.

You can also search for wordpress plugins that determine no follow/do follow  sites.

The only problem in submitting links to S.B. sites is that it requires alot of time, and if you don’t have a luxury of time, you can always outsource the social bookmarking submission work.
