5 Easy Ways to Start your Own Self-Supported Blog
Here are 5 Easy Ways to Start your Own Self-Supported Blog
Blogging has begun for a very long time ago. There are many ways on how you can have your own blog, popular free blogsites are WordPress.com, blogger.com, thoughts.com and many more, just google them
.
The problem with free blog accounts, you are bound with certain rules and policies that may hinder you from monetizing your blog’s traffic (ex: preventing you from putting ads in your blog). Earning from the things you love like blogging is really great.
You may blog about your personal experiences, your achievements even your failures, your daily activities at home or at work and about the things that you love. You can write about anything under the sun.
Yep, that is blogging, it’s like writing your own diary/journal that you wish to be read by others! Just remember that blogging is like a door that enables other people know about the things that you’ve encounter/experience/dealt with that may help them in some way.
Now that you have an idea on blogging, next thing would be, “How to start a blog?” As I’ve said a while back, if you wanted a free blog, just go to any site that I’ve mentioned. If you chose to have your own self-supported blog where you can choose your name as your domain (ex: http://www.Juzanobo.com) or anything that suits your preference.
First, choose a domain name (ex: http://www.YourDomainName.com). And then choose your domain registrar (GoDaddy, Moniker, etc.). I go with GoDaddy.com because they provide a competitive pricelist and DISCOUNTS too! Register your domain.
Second, you should have your webhosting company for you to be able to publish your site ac
ross the world wide web. Personally I recommend Hostgator.com, because it is used by most bloggers out there and even those Pros in blogging. You can also host multiple domains with less than 8$ a month. And most importantly, their customer support is astounding! I’ve had a problem with my account, I just only used their live customer chat in their site, told them my problem, and they guided what to do.
The next morning, my problem with my account was fixed! Yeah, it’s really that fast. That’s why no matter what, I’ll stick to their webhosting services. Low price fee with poor customer support webhosting company is like hitting your head with a bowler ball.
On top of that, you could have a webhosting account with Hostgator with as low as 1cent for the first month! Now that’s what we call super low price, just type the coupon code that could be found within the image(left).
Third, it’s time to setup your wordpress in your website. Wordpress is widely used by almost every blogger around the world. You could read my article regarding WordPress Overview. It is so popular for its user-friendly features and a lot of plugins and themes for wordpress are available out there to help you design your website a lot cooler. Don’t worry, the setup will only take you less than FIVE MINUTES to finish!
Fourth, when you’re finished with the technical side, it’s time to blog! Share to the world all the things that you love. This is the most enjoying part of blogging. And later on, after months of posting relevant articles that’s worth reading, you’ll be able to build a scalable readership (traffic) that you could monetize.
Fifth, repeat step 4.
I found a helpful site that is specifically made for people that wants to become a blogger. In here, they will teach you a step by step video tutorial in setting up your own blog.Visit becomeablogger.com and learn how to blog online! Sorry for me because I haven’t discovered this site when I was still learning all the basics in blogging. I still visit this site sometimes for reference.
It’s time to recap:
1. Choose a domain name and register it to an ICANN accredited Registrar (Godaddy, 1&1,Moniker, etc.)
2. Apply for a webhosting account at hostgator.com. Apply the 1 cent coupon code for the first month (refer to the image for the coupon code).
3. Install WordPress to your domain.
4. It’s time to blog. Discuss all the things that you love and for other people to read in your blog.
5. Repeat step 4.
That’s it. Now you have an idea on how to start a self-supported blog. Enjoy blogging!
