Excessive Playing of PC Games: The Bad Effects
PC Games: Pain in Neck among Parents?
Today, PC Games are widely spreading across the globe, almost every year there’s a new release of computers, may that be mmorpg, rpg, lan/strategic games, etc. At some point, these games give headaches to a lot of parents out there. They can’t seem to stop their children from playing.
Honestly, I’m guilty in being an addict to computer games; well that’s a long long time ago
. I first experienced playing PC games when I was in high school; it’s really fun I tell you!
Nowadays, even a 3 year-old kid knows how to play computer games. It’s truly remarkable how they’re able to learn with that age compared to 40+ year-old adult that can’t barely use the mouse to point and click correctly.
Computer games are really addictive. If a person doesn’t have a control over things, computer games will devour that person. Devour in a way that he will only be focused in playing these games, how to finish the campaign, how to increase the level of all his online characters so that he will have the advantage during PVP (Player vs. Player), and the like.
This is the life of a computer game addict. He would skip even eating his meals, skip his classes, forget to study his lessons, and even forgets to sleep at night. Thus, resulting in poor academic performance in school.
These are the bad effects of being addictive in computer games. Parents should talk to their kids, explain to them the pros and cons of excessive playing in computer games; the effect to their health and most importantly its effect to their future. Convince their children to play moderately, and prioritize their studies above all else.
Negotiate with them that they can play after exams, after their household chores, and all their other responsibilities at home and in school. Don’t ever try to stop them from playing computers because I assure you, it will be impossible for them to stop.
Set rules and be firm as to when they can play. Tell them what will be their consequences if ever they’ll break the rule. This will be a win/win solution for both parents and their kids.
Hope these tips will help parents in dealing with their children in relation with too much playing of computer games.

Personally, I don’t find anything wrong with video games. Each media has bad and good influence in its market. Like TV, there was a time when TV addiction was the common problem in the household and now it’s video games.
