How to Get Rid Blackheads
What is a blackhead?
Blackhead is a plug in the opening of a pore on the skin. It is a type of acne vulgaris, and also referred to as open comedones. It is caused my excess skin oil; congesting toxins that are expelled from the blood and lymph fluid that supplies the skin with nutrients. Blackhead is almost present in every adolescents and young adults. It is caused when oil and dead skin cells become trapped in a pore and mix with bacteria. These blackheads can be blackish or yellowish in color.
Causes of Blackheads
Skin that’s not cleaned thoroughly is the common cause of blackheads. It is usually develop when the skin produces too much oil. Excess oil production usually starts during puberty due to unregulated hormones, which results in clogged pores. Dead cells clog the pore opening which results in oil build up, and eventually causes blackheads to form.
How to Remove Blackheads Safe
Here are some simple steps that you can do in the comfort of your own home for your blackhead treatments. Get rid of those stubborn blackheads with blackhead removing tips.
Note: Squeezing blackheads is not advisable because it will only cause more irritation to the skin.
- Boil 3-4 cups of water and add 2 tsp of soda bicarbonate. Dip a towel to this solution, and then place gently onto your face. Mix rice flour with curd, 1 tsp each and then apply the mixture to the affected area. Wash your face after 20-30 minutes. Do this routine every night.
- Mix a small amount of glycerin soap with table salt. Apply the mixture on the blackheads. Do it as often as possible to find effective results.
- Mix limejuice with powdered cinnamon, both are approximately 1 table spoon. Apply to the face before going to bed. Wash your face in the following morning.
- Mix rose water with oatmeal, apply this on your blackhead prone area. Wash it off with cold water after 20-30 minutes.
- Apply honey on the area where blackheads are prone. Honey acts like a natural peel to your skin. It will also improve the skin texture.
- Select a natural scrub as this clears out all the collection of dry skin cells.
- STOP using oil-based skin care products and make-ups.
- Cleanse the face in the morning and before going to bed with oil-free cleanser to remove excess oil from the face.
- Steam your face with the boil of water which you can add herbs such as rosemary, lemon and peppermint. Drape a towel over the head and put your face directly to the steam. Do it for 15 minutes then wash your face with water.
