History of Wine
According to archaeological studies, wine production is believed to have started from 6000 to 5000 BC. It came from sites in Georgia and IRan. It started thousands of years ago during the early Bronze Age. And from around the third millennium BC, evidence of domestication of grapevine sites was seen in Near East, Sumer and Egypt.
Earliest European wine production has been uncovered in the sites in Macedonia. In Egypt, wine plays an important role in ancient ceremonial life. Wine was also common in Greece and Rome. From 15th century onwards, wine consumption became so popular. Today, wine processing requires an in dept knowledge in oneology. Oneology is the science of wine making. There are two general categories in win production.
First is the still wine production which involves no carbonation. Second is the sparkling wine production which involves carbonation. The most popular example of sparkling wine is the champagne. In Italy, sparkling wine is called Asti, Cava in Spain, and Cap Classique in South Africa.
Wine Making Process
Once grapes are harvested, they are flattened and undergo fermentation. Fermentation usually takes between one to two weeks depending on the wine being made. Yeast changes almost all of the sugar content in the grape sap into alcohol or ethanol. The next stage is where the juice is moved to containers. Some wines are bottled right away, and some are set aside into oak barrels giving it additional savor before bottling.

Red wine benefits the heart while white wine the lungs. Studies have actually shown that one drink a day for women and two drinks a day for men reduce the risk of heart attack for people in middle age by 30-50 percent. Wine has been proven to help people that are overweight. Four to five ounces intake of dry wine, which does not contain sugar, during dinner or before going to bed is an effective way to lose weight.
Wine also helps with anxiety problem. It has also proven to increase appetites. Red wine is filled with antioxidants and it is proven to be a liquid nemesis of cancer, preventing it before it will spread. Red wine also contains anti-aging property which helps to keep your arteries healthy and helps in boosting the immune system.
Only drink red wine in moderate level, because drinking too much will only put yourself in more danger than before.
